Reflecting on my first cover album - Shatter OST (2013)

I've been finding it difficult to start another project again so I thought that I'd reflect on some previous covers that I've done in the past to see how I could use that in the future.
Almost ten years ago, while I was preparing my portfolio to attempt to find some development work after university, I finished covering all fourteen tracks from the original soundtrack to Shatter, released back in 2009 and written by Jeramiah Ross. I didn't think that it would get a lot of traction and was not my expectations of the project at all - I just wanted to profess my love for the music from the game and how truly outstanding it was.
Unexpectedly, Jeramiah shared my work with their followers after I had used the handle in a previous Twitter post and it went down well. It was still early when it came to my music "career" if you will but I admit I was pleased to get some recognition for the amount of work that I had put into the project.
At the time, a potential opportunity did arise not long after I'd finished but that dissipated as my skillset at the time and what I was offering didn't align. I was young, naive and wished I had been more headstrong at the time but I think about this moment a lot when it comes to my musical proficiency. This is where the two versions of me split off from each other. Present me went off and worked in software development for a number of years after things didn't really work out. I like to think that the "other" me became a prolific composer in the video game space.
I hope that one day we can rejoin forces once again and work as a whole, rather than being split from each other at the present time.
The reason I bring this up now is because the remastered version of Shatter is being released later this year and Jeramiah was kind enough to share the work I had done again and allowed me to follow up with some notes about when I wrote those "demakes" of thier original work. I heartily look forward to the release and checking out how the game sounds in 5.1 surround!
All the best.
